Obsidian Entertainment  are game sequel specialists , the guys and girls you call in when your previously AAA franchise or the highly strung coding team that created it has run away ..... they offer respite to publishers who are left trying to breathe life into to the embers of otherwise dying games series


And they have a very good track record !as many Never Winter ,  K.O.T.O.R  and Fallout fans will testify..


In this case the franchise is Dungeon Siege , and the highly strung and very talented game coders Gas Powered Games and Chris Taylor... I wish someone had made a Monkey ( the one with Tripitaka Sandy and Pigsy and not the Island type) mod for Dungeon Siege , it would have been perfect ...even made all that mouse clicking tolerable....


The demo of  Dungeon Siege III is now available from Steam , who also have the best pre order deal because you also get the first 2 Gas Powered Games and Chris Taylor coded prequels , Chris Taylor is the legend that gave your grandparents Total Annihilation! 


As talented as Obsidian are in continuing and picking up games franchises which other high brow teams are too busy or bored to continue ( Bioware I mean you ) thegameveda looks forward to the day that Obsidian have enough clout to have some other team of talented coders continue one of their ( Obsidian`s) own franchises because they cannot be bothered to do it themselves!


Then they truly will have arrived!
