Hackers take measures to hack the Sony PSN anti hacking measures ..?global conspiracy against gamers emerges..

The burning question in the continuing saga of the PSN hack , remains  how many users are now afraid to get back into the Playstation Network waters , with their privates already  completely exposed once , or twice ...You know what happened ..allegedly ... this is why and how :


The following is strictly confidential , and  may have to be protected using that most British of institutions  ... the super injunction... 


Conspiracy theory no.732.1a/7-1001  : there was no PSN hack:  with the entire "developed" Western and Eastern  world facing economic  ruin and birth rates dropping ( Japan are you listening)  , easily explained by 101 million of said nations populations  favourite waste of time/life video gaming  , is there a global conspiracy to get us off our lazy b***s  away from our consoles  and take part in some useful activity ... like taking part in the economic recovery of our now failing nations , enacting democratic reforms , and or making babies? 


Methodology : Switch of PSN : fix the Worlds most pressing problems : blame phantom hackers:


Evidence ( or lack there of ..total lack there of in fact) : Hey ..listen...! 101 million lazy gamers have not been at their PS3 online  for almost a month , in that month Royals have been wed , the worlds most evil man rubbed out Tom Clancy style , the entire Arab world has embraced democracy and soon will be sipping from the sweet frappacino of freedom ,  maybe the PSN hack is what got people off their lazy b***s and allowed them to the important stuff like ridding their nations of dictators , completing operation Geronimo for real and not on Call of Duty ! ,  saving the Eurozone from total bankruptcy , and errh... finally getting married......in one particularly fine case....


Corroboration (  or complete lack thereof ) :  Look for the following markers : 1. The world economy recovers .2 World Peace is achieved  .3 Playstation Hack Baby boomers : Birth rates due to conception during the period PSN was down increase globally. 4. Winged Unicorns hold  flying races with pigs...


Further corroboration : When the PSN hack of the measures to prevent the hack is over : the world economy continues to falter , Middle East peace talks fail and the Arab spring turns into Winter ... and also birth rates continue to decline in the "developed"  world..see it wos PSN wot did it ...
!


Just think what could be achieved by mankind if someone turned off the entire internet and that would include you too smug  Xbox live fans!

If only they could get a move on and get it rolled out to the UK , currently Onlive usage is the best reason to move to the USA or Canada ....!

Onlive is the future , a  future where the PS4 and Xbox Infinity will not be physical consoles at all , they will be streaming services , with games sent to your tv ,phone ,tablet , something which onlive is doing right here right now ....

L A Noire console killer case cracked wide open ..main suspects Sony, Microsoft and Rockstar see no evil hear no evil...

The Case of the Console Killer Game : Chapter 2 


I motioned to my assistant to pour another kawfee ..black ...like I like my consoles.... turning a chair backwards before sitting down , and setting to work the case in the precinct interrogation..erh interview.. room where smoke still billowed from the dead and dying consoles now ready to be filed into evidence... an open and shut case of a multiple console killing game fatale LA Noire... However nothing in the City of Games comes that easy... 


Across from the table sat the 3 witnesses or suspects ,watching the tall blonde assistant glide from kawfee machine back to the table where she placed the now molten hot plastic cup to my mouth, the kawfee was scolding but the look she gave me was hotter, hmmmh  ,  48 hours of interrogation later (of the suspects not the blond bombshell) , and wearing out the precincts supply of 360 and PS3 pads , the three duhty rats  had all decided to sing from the same hymn sheet , absolutely no one was to blame for the overheating dying consoles , not Rockstar and their game fatale LA Noire , not Sony and not Microsoft deaf to my best interrogation techniques .. damn that 360 pad always runs out of juice... 


This open and shut case had just been blown wide open....again .... there was a console killer on the loose and I was not going to let him/her get away with daylight console murder... not on my watch ..


This case was set to run and run .... but first I needed some quality time with my assistant and some ice .... a lotta ice ... It get`s mighty hot doing detective work ..and....in the heartless City of Games.. in the end ...only love can save ya ..

Ghost Recon Online to free the free world free thanks to Ubisoft....

PC gaming is sooo healthy they be giving games away free...and the Ubi`s are not ones to be left behind in the free to play  FPS arena . 


Consider with Battlefield and Battlefield Heroes , the original freemium Quake III from Carmack and the boys , and of course 1000s of others on PC , not forgoing all the source and Half Life 2 engine life eaters , there is now a brick wall of opposition to the paid for DLC slave creating Modern Warfare behemoth ... well at least on the PC , you know the platform that all the hip blogs are now shifting focus to . 


And is it any coincidence that savvy code houses like Ubisoft are also focussing on the PC , after years of console led nonsense , the kind that has millions of Wii games/consoles and 3DS cartridges about to go the way of that old Atari classic E.T. ? Or the kind that sees year on year diminishing returns on consoles now as old as their users mental ages....


You cannot go wrong with a bit of Tom Clancy in your game so get behind thegameveda in the queue for Ghost Recon Online . How they translate the classic slow , plodding ,suspense , of the PC classics I do not know , but then I am not a genius Ubisoft coder now am I ? N`est ce pas?

Half Life and Half Life 2 played on the Toshiba Libretto W100 Dual Screen Ultra portable tablet pc!

These two are some of the most revered games ever written , and no they were not meant to shine on consoles , but literally be a Source of inspiration for a 1000 games developers and legion PC fans . So hale Steam , hale Valve and check out Gordon Freeman on the tiniest of ultra portable dual screen tablets , actually the only ultra portable dual screen Tablet the Toshiba Libretto . If anything Half Life 2 looks and runs sharper than Half Life !

LA NOIRE the case of the console killing game ..support closed ..game still killing consoles ..evidence gathers

Chapter 3 :T`was the game that did it .....

In last weeks chapter , we left your intrepid Fedora`d investigator infuriated at the indefatigable indifference irradiating from the incisors bared in an act of defiance by the chief monkeys at Sony Microsoft and Rockstar over the LA NOIRE multiple console homicide case they were all alleged suspects in . 


By the power of the independent , for now , interweb new evidence is emerging : and it points to the game NOT to the hardware 


Exhibit A : we can see the suffering of many  victims here for instance is a young chap , whose Xbox 360 has locked up thanks to the alleged console homicidal game LA NOIRE : 

Exhibit B : the following shows the PS3 3.61 update is not to blame , and other games more intensive than LA NOIRE run just fine . The intrepid detectives in this video deserve a medal of honor ( not the game version) , Rockstar you know what you deserve?

Over at the official Rockstar chit about the problems caused ( which actually shuts down to users comments when Rockstar feels like it ) , read the comments from further victims , both 360 and PS3 , and you will see many Belgian consoles died to bring you this information.


And the complete fallacy of Rockstar`s solution to the problem , as there is no way to restart a dead console , let alone reset cache , reinstall the game , set up a new PSN, whoops , offline PSN user , just to see if LA NOIRE kills your console on the next install ! 


Who can stop the Death Star that is LA NOIRE , is there any hope ... against this game Fatale ? 


Is LA Noire responsible for the greatest console homicide case in history ? And Scully ..is this a continuation of the global conspiracy against gamers that the PSN shut down forms part of as uncovered by thegameveda here ? I want to believe.....


Interrogation of the chief suspect continues in the City Of Games that is the Internet justice will be done...as the rightly disgruntled public mob and some very polite Belgian PS3 owners , proverbially  tear Rockstar a new one through the power of the web!.... duhty rats...

Minecraft played in IE9 on a Windows 7 Atom Ion powered joojoo tablet

I have no idea how to play this wonderful game, game ? I mean religion , the religion that is Minecraft ( apologies to gaming agnostics) , thegameveda has been trying not to play this game  as it is one of those you can lose your life to.. so just a dabble then as someone asked to see it running on a tablet , when my new Iconia dual screen turns up I will give this another go , for now check out Minecraft classic played in Java in an IE9 window on the Atom Ion powered Joojoo tablet running Windows 7 ..no apps needed just a grown up OS and tablet!

Onlive is THE  revolution , not a revolution , and its seems like every day there is another incentive to sign up , in fact every hour there seems to be one , with the PC demo of Red Faction Armageddon also an Onlive exclusive . Of course you could just go for this ridiculously generous offer  for Warhammer Space Marine , Relic`s latest!


In fact depending on how wise Google is with its Google Chromebooks , the ultimate gaming machine may be one that boots in 8s to the net that you hook up to your hdtv , or take with you , for everyone else there is always the official free console to use ... 


One day the folks at onlive will have the power thanks to millions of users to do away with fees altogether , with ad run games , the same way we have ad run channels on our tv .... woah children its just a shout away....


I do find it ironic though that the onlive service which is so reliant on fast broadband is aimed at countries at present with super slow broadband , leading in the USA and Canada . Onlive should have rolled out in the territories with super fast broadband  Not least South Korea , or for instance here in the UK and EU where the target audience for onlive ,core pc gamers , already use 50 to 100 meg connections . Thegameveda easily plays Onlive and Gaikai streamed games using wifi such is the speed of our broadband that in the UK we do not even need the wired connection that onlive recommends. All the games you see me demo using onlive are on wifi , 3 floors away from the modem!  but sadly these are demos only as there still is no way to purchase games for EU gamers . 


So thegameveda waits along with millions of EU gamers but you know that doesn`t make the onlive revolution any less revolutionary .... Plus we will likely have 200 meg wifi connections by the time Onlive finish renovating those old soon to be vacated Wiki Leak  European servers .....

Total War Shogun 2 for £12.99 and Killzone 3 for £19.99 this weekend

With a freefalling retail market , at least we get the odd awesome bargain from time to time and this weekend ,provided games fans you haven't bought these AAA titles already ,  which is unlikely but if you had better things to do when these two came out  you can get the excellent Total War Shogun 2 for £12.99 and Killzone 3 for £19.99 at ........ Game!

Which happens to be THE most respected gaming franchise ever , no really go check the value of the Codex editions , if you can find them!

THE SONY HACKAPALOOZA CONTINUES AS MILLIONS SIGN UP TO PSN AGAIN MILLIONS HAVE THEIR DATA STOLEN FROM SONYPICTURES.COM

Thegameveda has been covering the 2011 Sony Hackapoolaza for a while now , this blog entry was supposed to be about PSN and the store coming back on line , but it is time for yet another Star Wars reference ...for the course of Sony Playstation Network Apocalyps3 2011  seems to be loosely (!) following the chapters of the seminal George Lucas Saga ( episodes good and bad ) so 1 day after gamers saw the Sony Empire Strike back we have a Return of the Hack or perhaps Revenge of the Hack (depending on whether you see them as Jedi or Sith )  as thegameveda forewarned in a treatise entitled Begun the Sony PSN resurrection has...


lets see the damage stats over 1 million SonyPictures.com voices have been suddenly silenced with their account details , you know the score name , address , password say dob all taken 


A group called lulzsecurity or LulzSec if you want to be acute,  has done this apparently to show how lax Sony security STILL is , even after the PSN debacle , they even have an official press release here  ,and press actually rang up a little old lady to warn her ..they had all her details . see now that is respectful hacking , the little old lady has now changed her password , but since Sony is so lax with its users security it is only a matter of time before another nice hacking group rings her on her home number to ask her to change her password again..BECAUSE IT IS STORED IN PLAIN TEXT ! This is not a joke anymore .. 


Heads have to roll at Sony , 100 million odd fans including thegameveda have just dared to boot up PSN and the Store again ,if we had doubts about the way Sony was handling our data before , now the whole thing is verging on the ridiculous . 


As publisher foul ups go the current Sony Hackapalooza is a doozy ....


This needs a global holding to account of Sony Execs , and by every government whose country in which they do business , why is Sony being allowed to get away with something on this scale again and again , write your congressmen , in fact why not ask LulzSec for his/her phone number , tell them that you got the info because of the lax security that Sony is still operating 


Security is not a service we should be paying for every Sony account we use , or hotmail or Google or Facebook for that matter , these companies make billions out of us , you would think they could spend a few million , or even $1 on providing security for all personal details. 


It is time that governments demanded this and made it law . Write to yours and demand it . Till then it really is time to applaud the hackers like LulzSec for highlighting these dangers , don't believe me ? Just ask that little old lady who has by now made sure she demands Sony remove all her personal details , and that really is the way to get these global leviathans up to speed , by refusing to let them hold any of your details . 


And in this case the hackers exposing Sony`s weak security fall into the Jedi rather than Sith category ...as Lucas refs go ...




as always apologies and thanks to Mr George Lucas , if you want to motivate him into making the holographic versions of the classics and episode 7,8,9 be sure to fund the effort by procuring  Star Wars on Bluray!  After you finish deleting all your Sonypictures.com data of course!

Free Playstation 3 and PSP games.. makeup PSX for jilted PSN users ...?

So your significant other ,PSN , left you for a month or so , well now he or she is back with the offer of some makeup PSX , in the form of Free PS3 and PSP games , shame then that these will be games we mostly own already ... but if you are ready or desperate to rekindle that old PSN flame ... then why be fussy ?


Just make sure you use protection , if engaging in PSX I would use the points card method myself as the original credit card method proved about 0% effective as protection methods go  , and  Fraud Protect is a joke that you will have to pay for after 12 months (and just wait till that gets hacked!), so be safe use PSN points cards , and for that matter Xbox Live Points cards ... 


Of course there is always the safest PSX method : TOTAL ABSTINENCE from PSN !
