Amazon misfires with the launch of Kindle Fire HD



Preorder the Amazon Kindle Fire HD now in the UK . Releasing this October is Amazon's riposte to Google's Nexus 7.The US get the 1900 by 1200 HD 8.9 inch version too here: Kindle Fire HD 8.9" 4G LTE Wireless, Dolby Audio, Dual-Band Wi-Fi . But wait .. October is where tablet fans finally get shot of the walled garden tablet meme altogether ... as Microsoft Windows 8 tablets finally surface....

All this news of Amazon updating the Android based walled garden Kindle is frankly stale and hardly unexpected .. what really would have been radical and will be radical is when that Amazon CEO gets up and makes a speech about the Amazon Windows 8 tablet...

In taking so long to reach the EU , Amazon have lost out to Google , Samsung and every other Android tablet maker , in timing the release of the new Kindle to coincide with the release of Windows 8 and the ensuing freaking avalanche of Windows 8 tablets Amazon have been complacent.

Post Windows 8, iOS and Android walled gardens will dominate only on phones. Why bother with a gimped phone OS with walled garden content delivery, limited content creation capabilities when you can hold the power of your desktop in a similar sized tablet that runs the same OS and every full program and game as your desktop ..namely Windows 8  and costs less too . The 8.9 inch version of the Kindle Fire HD is priced at the level of Windows 8 pro tablets , in fact you could see Windows 8 pro tablets for half that price.

Und so the Kindle Fire HD may just be a Kindle Misfire HD ...drat and double drat !! for no one can stop the pigeon that is Windows 8 flying over the walled iOS and Android gardens and  s......g all over them from a great height in the process...
