Oh Mulder .....
If this goes on I may start believing my own favourite conspiracy... no not the one involving anal probes... or the one involving the grassy knoll.. not even the one involving the Illuminati.... no I speak of the greatest conspiracy theory of all time : the global conspiracy against gamers ... of course the global conspiracy against gamers may be all encompassing and involve anal probes , 2nd gunmen on grassy knolls , and the Illuminati ....
Adam Wueshaupt founded the Illuminati on May 1 1776 my EA account was hacked in June 2011 obviously connected obviously ...where`s my Beaver puppet...ahhh that`s better.... |
Targeting gamers is hardly going to stop the world , I mean we are not exactly the most useful part of humanity neither are we malevolent.....we mostly chew bubblegum and kick alien ass ...and we are outta... Hey Listen.....maybe it is the potential we have , saving princesses , managing cities , glassing worlds, solving crimes ,catapulting Aves , and solving mysteries , maybe it is because some pensioner run dictatorship out there fear the Face Book Twitter generation ... the generation that is finally changing the world ... or our local town .. or school ... or university ..Prime Minister or President.. we really can be the change we want to see in the world .. and it all started with a game....
You gamer , face booker , twitterer are the equivalent of a Hippie but with power ... virtual power ... that changes economies ... can topple dictators ... elect presidents ... And this is threatening to people : the hackers and the people behind the hackers :remember what they did to the Hippies? Hair Peace ... that is old ..man... after Face Book and twitter we got Web Peace ...
Think about it the most powerful change being brought about in the world today is through the internet and by gamers .or people who were gamers! The greatest international coming together of peoples is through the internet , gaming , social gaming , social networking not your traditional power bases... So this is highly threatening to the Illuminati , who hailing from 1776 are not too down or savvy with the interweb or for that matter video games which seem to be an anethema to many of our World leaders ( though thankfully not David Cameron who likes Angry Birds ... but perhaps that`s just cover for an old Bullingdon Boy!). The hackers may be 19 year old Essex boys but the power behind them... that is what has thegameveda Muldering these questions...
Power to the gamers ... change your log in details ..they may take our names , they may take our passwords ... but we will never be defeated ... and besides that stuff is already out there anyway
Maybe we should have a protest where we just out our details on face book so all this hacking nonsense is rendered moot ... you know... my details are on my Face Book page so hack on Mr Hacker ....you are totally irrelevant....
Lastly being the jaded gamer of 3 decades that I am , my neurons frazzled and warped by everything fro, games of Star Trek on mainframes of the 70s to 2011`s Child of Eden on Kinect ... I have to ask IS THIS ALL PART OF THE GAME ... if so could I save now I need... a bacon shake break...
below is the gist of the email you will receive from EA and BioWare , incidentally if EA`s Origin download service is linked to your EA account then this is not a very good omen for the newly launched download service... plus you will have games across consoles and PC connected to this one EA account...
We recently learned that hackers gained unauthorized access to the decade-old BioWare server system supporting the Neverwinter Nights forums. We immediately took appropriate steps to protect our consumers’ data and launched a thorough ongoing evaluation of the breach. We have determined that no credit card data was compromised from the servers, nor did we ever have or store sensitive data like social security numbers. Our investigation shows that information such as user names, encrypted passwords, email addresses, mailing addresses, names, phone numbers, CD keys and birth dates from these forum accounts on the system may have been compromised, as well as other information (if any) that you may have associated with your EA Account. In an abundance of caution, we have changed your password to ensure account security.
We take the security of your information very seriously and regret any inconvenience this may have caused you. If your username, email address and/or password on your EA account are similar to those you use on other sites, we recommend changing the password at those sites as well. We advise all of our fans to always be aware of any suspicious emails or account activity and report any suspicious emails and account activity to Customer Support at 1-877-357-6007.
