Spain`s finest arrest Three PSN Hacking Anonymous Amigos .... no mas hack-a-la vista ...!

Most of us  grew up with the notion of the benevolent Hacker , in the 80s we had the kid that through a spanner into a W.O.P.R. to save the world from thermonuclear Armageddon , and men  in neon highlighted tights throwing glowing discs around after being Rezzed into their personal computers  , in the 90s we had the romantic anti (now A.I.) establishment hackers championed by William Gibson and the Wachowski bros, usually accompanied by lovely razor finger nail tipped assassins /bodyguards . Yes anyone could easily fall for the romantic nature of hacking , but this is just science fiction  , cyberspace is not just where corporations of evil lurk , in the noughties it is where your life lives , those corporations hold your bank , health , personal and of course the most valuable of all data :  gaming details.

The Sony Hacks did not just take down , in fact they did not take down in any way Sony , they damaged the little people you and me , you know the type of person the science fictional version of Hackers always purport to protect. The type of person who is going to stick to using PSN cards to purchase games in future!

So 3 of the Sony Hackers are caught , and there is nothing Neuromantic about what they did.
Who knows once they have had around 30 years in Levinworth , they may prove useful in taking down Wintermute .. or saving the world from a W.O.P.R. or two....

This just in the latest account  Hack , Codemasters accounts have been leached and all your info is out there once again .   Why bother , just throw it up on face book and fuggedaboutit.....

Hack-a-la vista baby.....

check out the hilarious Three Amigos , and the oh so serious V for Vendetta if you missed the riff or are in need of a rest after all that hacking.....

Sega is Hacked and it did not take ages ........

Yes 2011`s biggest story for gamers ,a "global conspiracy against gamers" vis-a-vis the hacking to pieces of their online existence continues unabated, and now it is the home of Sonic and more importantly Total War for PC gamers , that get`s hoovered by the hackers.

You just know another iTunes hack is on the way....................................

here is the official email text :

As you may be aware, the SEGA Pass system has been offline since yesterday, Thursday 16 June.

Over the last 24 hours we have identified that unauthorised entry was gained to our SEGA Pass database.

We immediately took the appropriate action to protect our consumers’ data and isolate the location of the breach. We have launched an investigation into the extent of the breach of our public systems.

We have identified that a subset of SEGA Pass members emails addresses, dates of birth and encrypted passwords were obtained. To stress, none of the passwords obtained were stored in plain text.

Please note that no personal payment information was stored by SEGA as we use external payment providers, meaning your payment details were not at risk from this intrusion.

If you use the same login information for other websites and/or services as you do for SEGA Pass, you should change that information immediately.

We have also reset your password and all access to SEGA Pass has been temporarily suspended.

Additionally we recommend you please take extra caution if you should receive suspicious emails that ask for personal or sensitive information.

Therefore please do not attempt to login to SEGA Pass at present, we will communicate when the service becomes available.

We sincerely apologise for this incident and regret any inconvenience caused.

We are contacting all our members with these recommendations.

If you have any further questions please contact SEGA customer support on csescalations@sega.com

LulzSec add Eve Online , Minecraft , Escapist , Bethesda notches to their Hacking Tragedy...

So many intriguing questions surround   LulzSec and none of them relate to that age old catch the Hacker chestnut ... their identity ...

No the most pressing questions re LulzSec  include are they or aren't they ?  Benign or malevolent? Are they a hacking equivalent of Mercutio , shouting a plague on  both your houses to the every day lax security hack ready online companies and us the end user that so fallibly and readily  enters every personal detail of our lives

Are LulzSec  going to be the noughties equivalent of Tyler Durden , taking down the virtual strongholds of financial institutions...

2011 is the year the world woke up to hundreds of millions being hacked , and thegameveda predicted that this would inspire other groups of hackers to literally go for the 1 billion score , or literally hack the planet.

LulzSec are just one group , benign or malevolent , it does not matter , we need to adapt and have detail free online accounts , the equivalent of Paypal but for online account details ... not that , Paypal is immune from attacks ...

However just like Mr Shakespeare`s Mercutio , LulzSec should be wary , as just like Mercutio they may face an untimely demise for butting in where they are not welcome ,fighting a fight that really is not theirs....

This is a fight that our governments should be taking to the companies that regularly lose and or release our data so readily..

For yes I know that online security at practically every company is lax , but  I do not  need to have my data stolen by hackers and the companies that hold that data do not deserve to have their business and livelihood ruined just to prove a point.

So Lulzsec ....is it just not a brief Shakespearean act  before the dagger you seek to stop actually ends up in your own back ?

And is not ..your play of hacking just a play of tragedy in the long term , for the Man , us , and yourselves?

Anon....

Check out some Romeo and Juliet if you missed the riff and need to know how the story goes/ends

And now your EA Account and BioWare account have been Hacked all your birthdays are belong 2 the Illuminati

The way EVERY online gaming company is being hacked is THE story of this year from Sony,Sega , Nintendo to EA BioWare , SOE ,Codemasters , and the list goes on ... Not a week goes by without one of these companies emailing you to apologise .So thanks to Sony, Sega ,EA , Bioware , SOE the Codees , millions of people now know my name and date of birth .. perhaps I will be getting many more birthday cards this year ??

Oh  Mulder .....

If this goes on I may start believing my own favourite conspiracy... no not the one involving anal probes... or the one involving the grassy knoll.. not even the one involving the Illuminati.... no I speak of the greatest conspiracy theory of all time : the global conspiracy against gamers ...  of course the global conspiracy against gamers may be all encompassing and involve anal probes , 2nd gunmen on grassy knolls , and the Illuminati ....

Adam Wueshaupt founded the Illuminati on May 1 1776 my EA account was hacked in June 2011 obviously connected obviously ...where`s my Beaver puppet...ahhh that`s better....

Targeting gamers is hardly going to stop the world , I mean we are not exactly the most useful  part of humanity neither are we  malevolent.....we mostly chew bubblegum and kick alien ass ...and we are outta... Hey Listen.....maybe it is the potential we have , saving princesses , managing cities , glassing worlds, solving crimes ,catapulting Aves , and solving mysteries ,  maybe it is because some pensioner run dictatorship out there fear the Face Book Twitter generation ... the generation that is finally changing the world ... or our local town .. or school ... or university ..Prime Minister or President.. we really can be the change we want to see in the world .. and it all started with a game....

You gamer , face booker , twitterer  are the equivalent of a Hippie but with power ... virtual power ... that changes economies ... can topple dictators ... elect presidents ...  And this is threatening to people : the hackers and the people behind the hackers :remember what they did to the Hippies?  Hair Peace ... that is old ..man...  after Face Book and twitter we got Web Peace ...

Think about it the most powerful change being brought about in the world today is through the internet and by gamers .or people who were gamers! The greatest international coming together of peoples is through the internet , gaming , social gaming , social networking not your traditional power bases... So this is highly threatening to the Illuminati , who hailing from 1776 are not too down or savvy with the interweb or for that matter video games which seem to be an anethema to many of our  World leaders ( though thankfully not David Cameron who likes Angry Birds ... but perhaps that`s just cover for an old Bullingdon Boy!). The hackers may be 19 year old Essex boys but the power behind them... that is what has thegameveda Muldering these questions...

Power to the gamers ... change your log in details ..they may take our names , they may take our passwords ... but we will never be defeated ... and besides that stuff is already out there anyway

Maybe we should have a protest where we just out our details on face book so all this hacking nonsense is rendered moot ... you know... my details are on my Face Book page so hack on Mr Hacker ....you are  totally irrelevant....

Lastly being the jaded gamer of 3 decades that I am , my neurons frazzled and warped by everything fro, games of Star Trek on mainframes of the 70s to 2011`s Child of Eden on Kinect ... I have to ask IS THIS ALL PART OF THE GAME ... if so could I save now I need... a bacon shake break...

below is the gist of the  email you will receive from EA and BioWare , incidentally if EA`s Origin download service is linked to your EA account then this is not a very good omen for the newly launched download service... plus you will have games across consoles and PC connected to this one EA account...

We recently learned that hackers gained unauthorized access to the decade-old BioWare server system supporting the Neverwinter Nights forums. We immediately took appropriate steps to protect our consumers’ data and launched a thorough ongoing evaluation of the breach. We have determined that no credit card data was compromised from the servers, nor did we ever have or store sensitive data like social security numbers. Our investigation shows that information such as user names, encrypted passwords, email addresses, mailing addresses, names, phone numbers, CD keys and birth dates from these forum accounts on the system may have been compromised, as well as other information (if any) that you may have associated with your EA Account. In an abundance of caution, we have changed your password to ensure account security.

We take the security of your information very seriously and regret any inconvenience this may have caused you. If your username, email address and/or password on your EA account are similar to those you use on other sites, we recommend changing the password at those sites as well. We advise all of our fans to always be aware of any suspicious emails or account activity and report any suspicious emails and account activity to Customer Support at 1-877-357-6007.

They done hacked Steam : Change your passwords now dagnabit!

Come and listen to a story bout a man named Newell.
A rich cloud pioneer ,barely kept his servers cool,
Then one day he was shootin at some dude in Team Fortress ,
And up through the VOIP came a warning of all your passwords R belong 2 US

Hackers that is ,Anonymous gold? Lulzsec tea?

Well this Hillbillie or should that be Hackerbillie stanza , is how thegameveda coped with shock of having Steam , which is sacred to all PC gamers , being hacked through it`s forums , make sure you change your passwords and make sure your Steam password is not the same as your forum password , and that password is not the same as any other you use. And sad to say it will be time to check the use of your credit cards.

What next ? There is only really Xbox Live for the hackers to target ... so it is a matter of when ...not if ..

Good luck to Gabe, Valve and all at Steam. Oh and as Gabe would put it I am sure :

Y`all come back now, y`hear

and if you need cheering up check out the BEVERLY HILLBILLIES

Get actual word of mouth updates on how the problem is being fixed from GoDaddy
