We can play ANY PS3 and Xbox 360 game with head tracking and Leap Motion control combined as I showed here .. but that method requires a Laptop bridge...
What if we do not have a spare laptop lying around... what then ... ? Fret not for every problem has a solution..
And so here is a simple method to enable Zeiss head tracking, in seconds, without the need for a laptop bridge .. using a XIM Edge Mouse and Keyboard Adapter for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 within seconds you will be playing a game like KillZone 3 with headtracking on your Cinemizer OLED hmd like so :
This method blindingly simple, once you have updated the firmware on the XIM from a PC, it is entirely plug and play, you do not need a laptop bridge:
Connect your PS3 or Xbox wired pad ( use a USB lead with a standard PS3 joypad) to the first USB port on the XIM.
Connect the Zeiss head tracker to the second USB (mouse) port on the XIM.. Connect the Xim to a USB port on the PS3 or Xbox 360.
Connect the Zeiss headtracker to the Cinemizer OLED HMD (or your shades if you want to play without the hmd )
In a game set the sensitivity of the right thumb stick to match the level of speed of head tracking you require, in practise this is the highest sensitivity..
If you need to fine tune the speed of head tracking to your own head movements..
Hit Start and Select on PS3 pad, now push the up on the D Pad to increase acceleration , down to decrease it in from the hip shooting , and push the right arrow on the D pad to increase down sight acceleration.
Hit Start and Select to return to controlling the game with Zeiss head tracking
and that's it ..you can now play any PS3 or Xbox 360 game with lag free head tracking and do so in OLED 3D or non 3D on the Cinemizer OLED hmd!
Check out how it works in the video below :
So now we have two solutions for using head tracking in PS3 and Xbox 360 games with the Cinemizer OLED hmd and headtracker :
