Jobs bless...Apple dubs i an' i's iPad gives i an' i Apple iPad 2

Yes our dub dayz begin on March 25th in the UK . Check your emails!

First the disappointing stuff : iPad 2.0 is a dub of  iPad 1.0: iPad 2.0 is iPad 1.0 in so many ways just a B-side remix , albeit a thinner faster one....  a Europop remix ....?

iPad 2 has the same resolution , there is no sign of the fabled retina display ,even using the same panel ,  that is a lower res than all Honeycomb tablets nipping at Apples industry lead.

iPad 2.0 has the same storage , so no 120gb ssd then....

iPad 2.0 has a silly magnetic fridge magnet cover , the thing with fridge magnets is they all lose power ,frankly I am surprised the design gurus did not go velcro....but they are probably saving that for iPad 3... apparently it is similar to Japanese bathtub covers

There is method in the minimal design change , iPad has seriously dented not just the  competitions` laptop and netbook business but its` continuous success threatens Apples own Macbooks ,last year  people wanted a touch Air ,they got given a glass trackpad and elongated ssd storage..erh.. kool  !

Flashplayer not available for your device , this welcome message is also the same on iPad 2's same res screen . Although it  ( the message) may load up 9 times faster than iPad :

the ipad 2 iRie : cameras ,dual core cpu , faster gpu , and most of all we got to see Steve Jobs up  and about.

And now the big problem : the iPad .....the iPad 2 is obviously for Apple fans , but there are now 15 million of them with iPad 1.0 ... a significant proportion of those will have to upgrade ,or feel the need for Apple to make the same kind of impact.

And now the solution : Within a month there will be no more iPad 1.0 it is already being sold off at $399.99 from the Store. All iPads will then be iPAd 2.0 . With shinier faster apps , the consumer base will shift to the new model, again in their millions..but wait ...it will not be 15 million this time around as Apple have to face very real competition .

iPad 2.0 is also launching in a dire economic market , to a now tablet savvy , cloud happy audience.

Will consumers keep buying into restricted use ? The great quiet revolutions in gaming that occured over the last year have been noticeably ignored by  Apple to this point.

1. the ability to stream full PC games  ,  irrespective of hardware ( as long as you have good internet access) , through onlive and now Gaikai.  iPad 2 will not let you do this , as the parties involved are not going to give up 30 % of their revenue to the Cupertino massive . And this would also be damaging to App game sales. Why bother with apps of games like games but shorter and sideways on , like say Assassins Creed Altairs chronicles, when you can stream  Assassins Creed Brotherhood  to your tablet and play with max detail and a real controller?

I will be doing this in around a weeks time when it releases on onlive . Another example take the horror that passes as Mass Effect on the iPad , and the consider that you can right now through Gaikai instantly play Mass Effect 2 from a browser. Your gaming time is limited and although we collect iPad games like PC games on Steam , how many are we still playing a year on ?

2.Browser gaming , no not Facebook that is no.3 ! Full games running through browsers .  Star Wars the Clone Wars Adventures, and more importantly Battlestar Galactica online show that high spec pc games , involved and cloud based  are the future . To play you need to install Unity , then get on the cloud , but as we know there is no i in cloud.....

3. 500 million Facebookers are about to get a dose of free to play Angry Aves  . Apple may have nurtured the developers of games like Angry Birds , but they are about to escape their iOS cages. 500 million is significantly more than Apples user base , all completely unexploitable by Apple .... Facebook gaming cannot work on iOS devices as again it would threaten the revenue from the App store.

The other revolutions like free to play MMOs , full games that require a full OS on your tablet. Again you are never going to see that on iPad 2.

But heck we buy Apple for fashion right? I mean it is still cheaper than handbags?

Tablet owners are a year older , this blogger entry could not be typed on my iPad or my future iPad 2 as there is no app for that ...  It is being typed on my Joojoo ! whilst the iPad sits recharging . The same Windows 7 ion powered 720 p res tablet that I will be playing Assassins Creed Brotherhood on very soon....

i am about to lose control and iOS think I like it...
Now that Apple have done such a wonderful job creating and controlling , and controlling 30 % of revenue from apps! and controlling sale and controlling distribution , their rightly proud mascot Steve "I should be knighted like Bill" Jobs , has a glint of iPanic about him , there is much mention of iPad being pioneerring and creating a market by many of the key Apple staff ,as if they iFear someone is about to run off with their ball .

Another sign of iPanic is the constant seeking of patents , the most famous being the quest to patent the phrase App , similar to some mad Sony Nintendo or Microsoft hoodied exec trying to patent the term console.... but they are no jedi.................

Apple then must feel like the inventor of the first wheel , or the dude who invented www. and sought not to profit it from it , as you may have  guessed and gleaned correctly from Steve`s presentation . Apple , its` CEO ,and it's  Gears of War esque design guru , are feeling very philanthropic about their gift to the world, and are elated at the oncoming onslaught of 8 million different Android , Beos , and Windows 7/8 (gazuntite) tablets...

My iPad collects Apps on a regular basis but as a gamer , come on it does not compete  , iPad 2 with its 9 times faster gpu fx , is still irrelevant to me . The future of gaming is streaming onlive , Gaikai or collecting through Steam or with Browser games like Battlestar Galactica Online . This requires a machine that is open , that you can install anything on . Heck with Gaikai and Onlive there is nothing to install  so why can we not use these services on iPad 2 ?

In total my iPad cost me more than a quad core i7 laptop . And make that a tablet i7 if you like. This year I am not going to fall for the same restricted use , not least because I have seen the future of gaming and productivity , the cloud is here , really here , go google onlive , gaikai , we use Google Docs for work , every social network exists due to gaming revenue , the games you play are Flash , and we all know what Apple think of Flash..

For 2011 I want a core i5 or i7 tablet , one that I can mess with and one that lets me do anything I want... the £1200 I spent on Apples tablet last year ( including apps and dongles)  this year  needs to yield more than the novelty of a phone browser running a 9.7 touch screen with a hideous fliptop Japanese bath cover attached to some fridge magnet!

But you know i an' i just may need one to pose with once in a while ...  Jobs bless ...my peoples... then again that 3D LG Honeycomb tablet looks very cool in that Korean pop video....

Ahh accessorizing this is how the fairer sex must feel every time they try to pick a handbag

Just goes to show there is seriously too much design and too little substance in todays hardware !
