This includes the obvious Myst Riven and URU , but also video games milestones such as Cosmic Osmo and the Worlds beyond the Mackeral and The Manhole , which many a mac fan used to tease poor pc dos owners with , these were some of the first games to use a mouse , introducing the world to the concept of hypertext links , and the concept of point and click adventuring running parallel to and predating many of the great Lucasfilm and Sierra point and click classics. For all you button pushing Lost fans , Myst and Riven have stories and worlds far more esoteric than Lost , and wait till you get a load of the buttons you can push to operate strange contraptions that appear to do nothing at all! You can also see the puzzles , locales , duplicitous characters, and the narrative flow and reveal in the Myst series as influences on Lost.
Who knows it might even make you gain a deeper understanding of what on earth was going on!
