STEAM SALE DAY 14 2010 GOES OUT WITH A WHIMPER ..money for old rope and digital mutton dressed as lamb?

same old same old.....................

The so called top deals really show this to be the poorest Steam sale in the history of Steam , when you have to rely the gangster fests of GTA and Mafia taking point , themselves really console ports , and more console ports backing them up ,  with dated older pc classics and a pair of indie games on  your six , you know PC gaming and its flagship delivery Steam system  are about as exciting and revolutionary as the latest Medal of Honor was .There is no respect for long term PC gamers here , no deals on new releases , no deal on COD BO , yet another console port , no preorders deals for upcoming games ....
However if you are new to PC gaming the Valve , iD , ThQ , Square Enix and other complete packs are great value for money and now it is time to surf through to pick out some obscure deals and bargains , from the point of view of a Steam old timer.....

so here goes in no particular order and I am reaching here people this was not a good Steam sale year ..... I see....

1. Sid Meiers Pirates for £1.49
2. Mafia for £3.49
3. and if you have 0.29 to throw away there is Shattered Union

And then maybe  we have the Indie Flight Pack 90% off deal that bags you the likes of Every Day Shooter  and a way of justifying a purchase of  the  normally  terribly expensive Gratuitous Space Battles .

Frankly save your money for the upcoming 2011 releases , and fellow jaded gamers , hold on to your wallets the moral of the story is to buy nothing till the end of the year Steam sale, and thus avoid all the angst and tears as you see the publisher packs updated with all the games you lost money on during the year ...

This Christmas shows there are serious monkey wrenches stuck in Valves Steam delivery service  , and this time next year they will need more PC oriented content , take a look at the top deals , how many are console ports?  , and Steam will also need to find  a way of allowing people who purchased previous versions of publisher catalogues to benefit from new deals or update their game library. Currently you just feel left out , why can`t I pay an upgrade price keep my gaming catalogues up to date? So whilst this a great sale for newcomers , its just incredibly disappointing for old timers.

You could quite happily live without any of the current top deal games , or the majority of the on sale items , in a desperate hunt for a deal today I was almost considering getting Wanted Weapons of Fate.... before somebody slapped me......

save your money for impending hardware upgrades ..... or go waste time and money on Steam  the power is thine........
