Nintendo 3DS order today ! and it costs £217.85 ! or $249.99 in the land of the free ..

Yes you can order the Nintendo 3DS today from Zavvi and get a free carry case + 10 % off a game , the standard package does not include anti-emetics it seems . I wonder if they tested the  possible side effects on humans or animals?

To rub salt into our EU eyes , over in the States [USA] people are complaining the Nintendo 3DS is overpriced at $249.99  which translates to around £157.70! 


And to add more insult the games are region locked ... 1 year from now Nintendo will be losing its CEO , share prices will have been Bowsered and no one will want to rescue Princess Peach anymore , this is the beginning of the fall of Nintendo , it happened to Sega , and long ago it happened to Atari , it happened because they were fleecing their sheep so fast the wool could not grow back in time .. plus thanks to the wonders of insheeption I have just sowed songs of freedom into dreams of gamers around the world...waking them up from the nightmare of slavery to now out of date games and games console retail models..

And what if you buy two of these and have them frying your retinas with multiple 3d images - what will be the effect on a generation of gamer kids wielding the  Nintendo 3DS , Village of the Damned style mutation or evolution ? 

And I am only slightly joking as this fugly handheld  actually comes with a health warning , for under 6 year olds and their parents , how long before the first law suit ? We all play games far longer than we watch a 3d movie at a cinema or a large screen tv , so aren't we all at risk ? Do you really take a break every 15 minutes? How did Nintendo measure the cut off for age groups , were these tested on actual children? What will the Tea Party and Soccer mom armies make of this new potential threat ?Und so  the best way to keep your eyes and that of infants safe would be to limit your use of the 3DS by not buying one at all! At least wait until the early adopters , i.e. control group of kids and their  owners are tested for problems ! 

Chilling thoughts indeed and you thought that nice Mr Apple was evil.......... it will take more than a million apps to take down the 3DS!  Hahahahahhahahhahahhahhahahah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But take down the Nintendo 3DS ...they will! At £217 this is iPod touch territory , and many a smart phone price , when there are so many devices fighting for space in your pockets are you really going to carry one of these too , and then lug around physical media , remember that , yeah like you carry around Cds for music !  

At £40 a game this is twice the cost of next gen console gaming and around 80 to a zillion times many iOS and Android apps (the zillion times refers to totally free stuff....)

Looking at the games line up I think I will pass , until Metroid turns up , but even then the handheld market now belongs to iOS and Android  , rehashing old classics for a small screen experience .. did they not do that with the  Gameboy,GBA , DS ,Dsi , Dsi XL . Haven't y`all been buying the same games over and over again for higher costs with each iteration of Nintendo handheld?

Thanks to iOS and Android we are far more used to buying or getting games for super low prices , and several a day free  , there is no way the over complex tech in this handheld will ever receive the kind of developer attention that the Apple and Google based slates and phones already have .

So in 3DS you have a big seller on launch in Japan , but which will still be outsold by the psp's next great thing / Monster hunter whatever , it will sell slightly less in the US and UK . But it's long term sales will be significantly dented by competitors.

There is no way either Sony or Nintendo can turn the handheld gaming revolution back , my £217 is going towards an i5 slate and the iPad 2 . 

And the final insult to the 3DS from the new handheld gaming revolution is that you only feel sick after paying so much for an iPad not as result of using it like the Nintendo 3DS !
