Sins Of A Solar Empire Rebellion played on Dual 14" touch screens of a Windows 8 Acer Iconia 6120

So the 12th of June brought us the final release ( for now ) of Sins of A Solar Empire Rebellion , the game itself has quietly become THE reason to own , upgrade and mess with the format we know and love as the PC .

I have been filming videos of playing the entire series on Win 7 tablets, and later Windows 8 Tablets for the longest time. So what is there to report ?

The game itself like I said is reason alone to purchase your first PC , and re tech specs , I first played on the Atom powered joojoo and it runs fine , on the i7 Intel HD 3000 powered X220T you can easily run it at 1920 by 1080 on your 30incher , or the tablet screen itself at 1366 by 768 , but the coolest option of all is when you run and play on the dual 14" touch screens of the Acer Iconia which is 1st gen i5 Intel GMA powered , and it flies as you will see using Windows 8 Release Preview ,   which also means it will fly veritably on upcoming Windows 8 tablets ... or the ones I build anyway....!

Frankly I would use it to launch Windows 8.... frankly they won't need to  , because you are going to own it way before the official launch of Windows 8 ...

What has changed since the Beta is that 10 point touch works across both screens , or for those still using mice you mouse will work across multiple monitors ... if you check some of my earlier videos you will see pinch zooming working only on the lower screen, now it works across both. Problems include some flickering of the menu and icons .. but PC fans are well used to initial launch problems like these .All the screens you see here are captures from dual screen landscape orientation, of course a static representation can not hope to show you the beauty of this game ...

As for playing the game , I love the sandbox nature of it all , if there is a story I have no idea about you see I am too busy getting lost in the game mechanic , the thing that makes the greatest RTS games , which is ebb and flow , take for instance the brief time I was filming the game for this article now , playing through the new iPad screen one handed on dual touch screens  I was not going to get any where fast . But I managed to set up a defensive grid that happens to hold back pirate raids rather nicely as you can see . This after my great battle cruisers had all been wiped out ... take a look a my errh vengeance against one such pirate rade below :

Get Sins of A Solar Empire Rebellion from  Steam now .

More to Sins of A Solar Empire Rebellion gameplay to follow on the Lenovo X220T , Toshiba Libretto and joojoo .. desktops ... who needs desktops mine is rusting as I type ...
