VR Morghulis ? A Reddit song of Ire and Farce..A Game of VR Thrones or is the Oculus Rift in my hands the beginning of the VR Revolution?

As I sat here typing ..much method in my madness ..I was completely unaware that my experience of the  Oculus Rift was about go from being fantasy to reality...

Paying the VR Iron Price ..

For many of us Virtual Reality  and it's promise remain firmly entrenched  in the realm of fantasy ...  So far in my previews of the Rift I have resorted to high satire , low humour and of course the expression of very real grief and outright disbelief ..at the way Oculus VR have been treating their Kickstarter backers. I like the silent majority am going to be convinced by actual use of the Oculus Rift..

Update 29 though, following my last brief novella on the  Rift and VR that set the Reddit trolls-a-singing, showed Palmer and co responding, stepping up to and not reacting to criticism.. 

At this point though any thoughts of my receiving my Rift were still fantasy and my time was occupied with tails of  red comets in the sky, dreams of 3 eyed ravens and thus my twisted psyche happened upon a theory .. another way to look at the fantastical, yet to be seen 3D virtual world that I dub..

In addition to it's noble Bannermen House Oculus also commands  many Pyromancers and a few Hounds too  :

Embedded and passionate ready to unleash flame against the smallest inkling of criticism vs the Oculus Rift ... inhabiting the lands of  Oculus Kickstarter, Reddit, Ouclus dev forums and  MTBS3D... 

And then sanity took hold ... a UPS info note popped through my letterbox , with the UPS driver taking my Rift back to the depot (ringing the bell being too complicated) and thus I set out on my quest to the other side of town to personally collect my Rift before it was returned to House Oculus ...

and here it is .. in my hands .. 

So with developer kits finally reaching kickstarter backers in quantity, I can finally start taking a clinical look at the Oculus Rift VR concept and importantly the Reddit ire and farce brigade's comments will be drowned out by real world use of the Rift by the thousands of developers who gave generously  to support Palmer's vision and are now able to use their RIfts to further their vision of VR.. 

UPS in the UK  do not give prior notice with standard delivery, so do not expect a shipped status update as happened with US backers, as such Oculus VR have no way of telling your specific item has shipped because it may be part of a pallet of 500 to 1000 or more ) .. 

There will be criticism ..right now Oculus is bleeding consumer support but garnering developer support , the Rift is a developer kit ,but consumers will want to and need to compare it to other hmd solutions they can buy now.  And that competition together with being part of the feedback from developers is why I backed Palmer Luckey 9 months ago. 

For the masses VR remains as fantastical as my above allegory , a realm as real , or less real,tangible and less accessible than common day fiction..It is easy preaching to the faithful ...but how does VR reach the masses?

Will I be trying to get Super Mario 64 working on the Rift ? Hell yes .. that and Goldeneye too .. but there is a far more serious side to this, 

From this point on Oculus VR must move from a hobbyist to a consumer driven company one that takes criticism as feedback and welcomes it .. encouraging both followers and critics too,  after all as events this week show THE great walled gardening firm of our time has lost 18% of it's share value .. who could have foreseen this ? Well apparently not the members of the board ..since that great company does not even have a formal complaints procedure and is famous for dictating to it's users and not dictating their comments ..how would they know ..? WE know ..they chose not to give users what they want or tolerate criticism ..being defended by Internet troll armies that serve no real  purpose.. so could it be Apple Morghulis ? Maybe ... a man has said..

Right now I am chilling out with my Rift  which even when not in use  has a strange calming effect ...the presence of which in my life I find almost Tribble like .

I would like to say thanks to Palmer , Oculus VR and I will actually  be seeing you in the game ..through my Rift!

now Meteor and Adhesive could you hurry up with Hawken please !
