STAR TREK BRIDGE COMMANDER Totally Games classic

Totally Games first non Lucas Arts game , the best and most beautiful representation of interstellar combat in the Star Trek universe , for the first time in full 3d [unlike starfleet command which has never had a z axis ]
If you tire of the amazing external views , with glowing engines and glistening lights on ships and stations ,you can actually take the helm of a virtual 3d Bridge with full 3d characters at each of the control stations ,working control panels and view screen, its completely up to you how much you want to control the ship directly or delegate as a real commander would
From Larry Holland author of the XWing , and Secret Weapons series command many Star Fleet and non Star Fleet vessels , offline in single player campaigns and online , set up skirmishes how about taking on a Borg Cube with the Defiant - recreate your favourite battles, choose the advesaries and locations . scan probe communicate attack orbit and defend to your hearts content
The best thing about this game apart from the gorgeous graphics , and acutal cast member voices [ Picard , Data] is the number of enhancements and mods available , with extra ships campaigns , bridges and special fx added. This is why BridgeCommander is one of the most sought after StarTrek games. Just check Google for the modding community. It really is quite a sight to actually see phaser banks light up the hull of the Enterprise in a circular pattern before discharging into your enemies shields or following a photon torpedo crashing through the hull of a ship - eat your heart out Kahn [sorry wrong series]. and also quite a challenge to balance defence and attack as you shift power from ships systems .. but don't fret Picard is around from time to time to offer training and Data later on.With all the mods available you can now stage almost any battle in glorious 3d which makes this a must have for Star Trek fans.If you are a Larry Holland fan then this game is a must have , as it represents the only recent example of Totally Games coding outside of Lucasarts.
As Star Trek games go , Bridge Commander is the best , and Larry Holland and co manage to shame all the other softcos who have had several decades to perfect the license, but somehow always manage to fall short of expectations/hype [some might say much like the films].
condition :used :full dvd retail release cover with 90 page manual + cd :good tested to install/play
the greatest of Trek games - attach a mic to your pc and you can even shout your commands at your virtual crew - make it so indeed !
check google for reviews and thanks!!!!

Star Trek Bridge Commander on the Toshiba Libretto Dual Screen Tablet PC

Someone once said "make it so ".. so here it is more Larry Holland and Totally Games magic on the the magical device that is the Toshiba Libretto . And whilst some tablets, even into their 2nd iteration  still cannot run Flash , or cry at thought of running a full OS , thegameveda is happily playing on a tablet that definitely was created with a make it so Trek philosphy:

Running this game on other tablets is a total pain , not because of hardware issues , but because most Windows 7 tablets do funny things to screen rotation  in software  , on the joojoo to play this game you need to flip screen orientation , and then play with external mouse and keyboard . There is no hardware cursor option so touch will not work on the LCARS panels ( yet ! but it will when thegameveda gets through with it!) .

On the Libretto is a simple install , set the game to 32 bit , rev up the settings ( yes really) and like wow , you just made it so .. Mr Scott would be proud ...

Next on thegameveda you need to see functioning LCARS on a handheld 7 dual screen tablet PC , and you will with the finest Star Trek game ever created .....

meanwhile:

Star Trek Birth Of the Federation on the Toshiba Libretto

Star Trek Birth of the Federation is considered one of the finest games , finest strategy games and finest Trek games ever written , here you see it being tested  on the finest dual screen tablet thus far created the Toshiba Libretto .

Again unlike other tablets   , i.e. real full OS Windows 7 tablets  , the game installs and runs without fuss , the LCARs interface works perfectly and as the Libretto has a nice 2nd touch screen there is no need to lug around an external keyboard , or you could watch reruns of TOS on the 2nd screen whilst you were waiting for the computer to make its turn ! hey now there is an idea .. more on that later  for now check the initial test ( i.e I totally forgot how to play , too much time on consoles and iOS /Android "apps")
