Steam Sale Day Four for fans of Major Shepard Darksiders Blur Flyboys and Chinese consipiracy Zombie hunters

Namaste ....Day 4 since the Event... the clock strikes six and I ..as usual .trapped in my bunker  at my pc stare into the screen just as I have to  every day when the clock strikes 6 they tell me I must never fail to  press the blog this button or the world will end , its true brother .... the nice Chinese scientist speaking Hindi on the Betamax player told me  !

Desperate to keep from buying more games I write this blog entry , and yet every day as I complete the entry ,brother , I end up buying more ... still I am saving the world ?  Is that a Polar bear outside my window? Down boy theres  fishfingers in the freezer if you are good...

The greatest deal is 50% off the   Mass Effect series , which we have come to love as an intensely pseudo deep third person scifi strategy space combat rpg epic minus the space combat  , as deep as multi choice dialogue allows this gen of games , and as tight with leather costumes as this gen of gpus allows , the standout feature of the Mass Effect series is of course are you Miss Shepard or a Mr Shepard ,  and that game changing choice brings all the connotations and trysts with Aliens /humans of the same/different/ multi gender that a healthy Princess Leia in bondage to Jabba the Hut fetishist could want ..but that is the point of your Direct X 11 GPUs isn't it!. Oh and its also a fairly excellent game too .  The digital deluxe version is so cheap you will want to sell your PS3 to fund a PC to get it  speaking of which the PC version is the one to own , so forget wasting money on the touched up PS3 version out later this month .. for 3 to 4 times the price .. and ME 3 is next December !

Today also brings the glory that is Darksiders , you cannot afford to miss this game if you are a fan of action rpg adventure , the game gets deeper and more complex the further you get into it , there is no finer action adventure game this gen , on PC . And at this price it would be silly to miss . If you were a fan of anything Kain, Croft, Zelda 64 or Shadowman , did I say Zelda 64? then this is your game

Then 3 more for me Wings of Prey is great for flyboys at 80% off chaps ...tallyho.... and  to honour Bizarre Creations genius get Blur , people this is sooo much better than Need For Speed Hot Pursuit , and on PC the neon lit vehicular combat will look nice running at 5120 1600  , and lastly as it is too cheap to miss I have to go for Operation Flashpoint 

That's me fleeced for another day ..... some day when I create my Gamer Island  retreat ( still saving up to purchase said tropical Island) , I will retire and play all these games , I expect Gabe and co to keep  servers  up and running ?

oh and Dead Rising 2  at 50% off its cheaper than the cheapest retail price ... and only £11.99 if you own Res Evil 5..dratt and double dratt!...........

STEAM SALE DAY 9 CRYSIS management and Section 8ing a Global Agenda Sandstorm Arrowhead

Time for another subjective look at the Steam sales  lets see , there is only one standout the Crysis collection which by now almost a decade since its release we should all have sufficient hardware to at least run the Menu screen of.... at least 5 frames a second  ....  Really Crysis at 75% off should make you glad you are a PC gamer , albeit one that does not have many games , and has some how managed to not purhcase THE standout FPS on the platform . There cannot be many of you , but however many there are we salute you . Wish I waited a decade to buy all my games .... 

Anyhow of the rest too many are always in sales , and cheaper than the price here , Doom , Dirt 2 ,Sim City , Kings Bounty ,and Mount and Blade.

They`re in EVERY sale people avoid them ... and go for the super iD pack if you are hankering for old skool pwnage

Of the others Lost Horizon you can live without ,it is not Monkey Island , and Telltales Back To the Future games deserve your money ,attention , and Pepsi Free money more.

Then we come to the hmmmhs  , Section 8 is a nice little online blaster , here way cheaper than on the consoles it is so wholly unsuited to .. Whether anyone is playing it  should influence your decision . I mean its not as if any Steam user has a shortage of games they do not play ! One more to add to the list ?


And the 2009 E3 MMORPG of the show , or should I say action MMORRPG of the show , Global Agenda Sandstorm . Bringing back a certain Tribes feeling alone should make it worth considering , it also helps that there are no subscription fees and tons of 2010  updates are included...

Another hmmmh is Arma 2 Arrowhead , which is also today's Bonus item you need this if you are at all serious about modern warfare games , and I do not mean Actiblizzard style...

STEAM SALE DAY 8 reheating yet more left overs .....ABSTAIN!

Yes its a another bad Steam day, an  oh my Gabe , where are the new games deals mate day and from now on every sad Steam sale day will have its picture posted upside down. Save your wallet for traditional retail sales  .  There is nothing here that has not been on sale cheaper from Steam itself , or that you cannot get from retail cheaper. Again the lack of quality content is really hurting Steam 

And another thing , the Steam servers cannot cope with the load , Valve and co are reaching the point where there are so many users the service is limiting itself , and you know what will happen eventually don`t you CHARGES!

We are now in 2011 AAA game preorder territory ,save your dough for Dragon Age 2 , Killzone 3 Hellghast Edition , Deus Ex Human Revolution ,and the very soon to be released Dead Space 2  not to mention Uncharted 3  ... or Batman Arkham City


All these micro purchases for games on Steam will add up to several  new 2011 AAA titles you could have preordered !

STEAM SALE DAY 11 are Gabe and Valve surrendering to traditional retail ?

The death of retail by Steam  has been greatly exaggerated....all of these games can be either lived without or found cheaper on retail , alternative download sites , and consoles!

The only real true standout and this is if you are a Raven Software fan is Singularity for 50% still far cheaper than present retail prices .And because I love Raven , this is mine I tell you ......

The other  standout is the GTA Complete Pack , but again it is something we probably already own now don't we ,so sorry no cigar Gabe ... filthy habit.... 

Don't buys are: 

1.The Elder  Scrolls game is better purchased through the Bethesda complete pack 

2.Star Trek Online - is much cheaper on retail  and game download from Amazon compare below , and you still get unlimited downloads , without Steam , so consider the needs of the few  and avoid adding another 17gb download to the queue

3 Do not buy RUSE on Steam ,  a myriad of deals exist from retail which you can then register on Steam  check them out here and I mean retail deals are up to 50% cheaper than what Gabe and Steam are offering at least in the UK !War what is good for....?

1.Left4Dead 2 : which is 75 % off if you own Left4Dead 1  not to be missed , but again you would be better getting the Valve Complete Pack
2.Then we have Need For Speed Hot Pursuit , the finest arcade racer for a generation on consoles , but also available far cheaper from retail  we are talking £12.95 versus £17.99 in UK money get your cheaper than Steam  retail  Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit (PC DVD)


Fillers that you can live without for at least now : 
1.Transformers , great game for the console generation , but really you want to get it retail so you can trade it in later for something you really want , which of course you will not be able to do with the pc version retail or Steam , so Autobots sorry ...
2.Europa Universalis III complete and Grand Ages of Rome are , venerated Strategy series , you can live without or find cheaper on retail or as part of a pack ...
3.Hegemony Philip of Macedon ..he`s no Alexander and am I bothered about this or Shattered?


So an 11 th Day where Retail smashes the Steam Invincibility myth , and not so long ago all us tortured oracles were sooth saying the end of traditional retail .Traditional retail price undercutting Steam  , with Steam compatible games , and iTunes and Android  with 500000 apps and counting  proves the old adage if you cannot beat them join them .....and then beat them .Come on Gabe pull yer finger out of the Valve and let Steam rip......

Steam Sale Day 12 Command Conquer and Supremely Rule Empires with Total War as Agent 47 S.T.A.L.K.s the Farcry of Jedis whilst controlling Flight
